Welcome back after the October midterm.
It was a very busy first term. Our Transition Year has got off to a fantastic start. They have gone on many different trips, Collins Barracks, a fantastic few days away with the Wicklow Way and trips to the cinema to name but a few.
Our third years also went to the Collins Barracks on the 21st of October for the 1916 re enactment and a great time was had by all.
The first years won their class challenge and went on the Viking Splash tour.
As part of our JCSP programme we had a celebrity chef in Adele King. She taught the students all about cake decorating. They all got a cupcake at the of the day. Lucky them!!!
On October 10th our exam years all took part in a study skills session to aid them in their preparation for their state examinations in June 2017.
On October 11th our 6th years went out on their geography field trip.
All of our Junior Cycle girls took part in a female focused workshop on the effects of bullying, not only the physical effects but the mental and emotional effects. it was called Hero Starts With Her.
In the afternoon of the last day of term students worked in groups to create their own scarecrow. They all came together at assembly and presented their creations.
The first and second years also took part in a halloween themed disco, our own Byron Dunne was the DJ. This was all planned and organised by our third year student Orla Monks. Well done Orla.
The winning team of the scarecrow competition was led by the very talented Ms. Byrne and the members of the winning team were all third years; Orla, Caoilinn, Nicole, Clodagh, Rebecca, Lydia, Donna-Marie and Alex.
This was definitely a very busy first term. We have another busy term coming up. Our preparations are underway for our Christmas celebrations and our exams.
We shall keep you posted.
