Our Open evening took place on Tuesday 6th October and we had a full house! We would like to extend a huge welcome to all our new students who have signed up for September 2016 AND September 2017. The staff would also like to thank all of our current students for their help on the night, they were excellent at both ushering our groups of parents and students but also demonstrating all the activities in the classrooms. We had taste tests and light and heat experiments in the Science lab, exploding volcanoes, fizzing rocks and interactive globe contests in the Geography room. The Maths and Business Studies rooms had games and competitions on the go. The History room turned the kids into archaeologists who excavated gems. The Technical Graphics, Art and Home Ec rooms showed off their facilities and the work that students produced. The English room displayed their Poetry projects, and the books they are reading for their book club and also the Well Read competition.  Our new fully equipped Gym was a big hit with everyone trying out the machines, our sports hall and library were also on show. The biggest hit of the night had to be the music room, the amazing music and singing could be heard throughout the school. Bernard and Abby sang a duet on the piano. The drum kits were in full use, with kids and parents alike having a go. The Trad group showed off their talent as did the choir. We even had some incoming first years join in which was fantastic, we cant wait for them to join the choir in 2016! Please contact the school if you would like registration details and an application form for 2016 or 2017.
