Art is a popular subject choice in Rosary College as it allows students to explore their creativity and imagination through various exciting art projects. Students use a wide variety of materials to create fantastic projects in the area of clay, lino printing, painting, and book crafts.
Given the school’s Dublin location, Rosary College students are well placed to visit all of the major art galleries & museums that Dublin has to offer in order to support their understanding of the history of art.
Junior Cert Course:
The Junior Certificate Art course consists of a year long project which must incorporate a chosen theme from the test paper. This theme is then carried through in the following areas:
- - Painting or Graphic Design
- - 3-Dimentional Study
- - Option
- - Preparation studies
- - Support studies
- - Drawing (still life & life drawing)
Leaving Cert Course:
Leaving Cert course consists of 4 test papers divided into 4 separate sections of art.

- - Still life/Imaginative composition/Abstract 25%
- - Life Drawing 12.5%
- - History & Appreciation of Art 37.5%
